Hey, Collective

It’s Joe here, Artistic Lead and Director at The Oscura Collective. It’s been a while—close to 16 months, in fact—since we last connected. Life has a way of leading us down unexpected paths, and I found myself needing to put The Oscura on hold. I wanted to share my journey with you, and more importantly, let you know that The Oscura is back, stronger and more inspired than ever.

The Journey

When I made the decision to step back from The Oscura, it wasn’t an easy one. The Collective has always been more than just a project; it’s a piece of my soul. However, sometimes, taking a step back is necessary to gain a clearer perspective and the drive to move forward with greater intent. For the past 16 months, I ventured into a different career, learning new skills, meeting incredible people, and gaining experiences that have profoundly influenced my work, and my ability to design. Not just in my art, but also in the website and the fundamentals of the online retail world.

The Right Time

Throughout this time, I never stopped thinking about The Oscura. The spark was always there, waiting for the right moment to reignite. I wanted to return when I felt fully driven and focused, ready to give The Oscura the attention and dedication it deserves. And now, that time has come.

Rebuilding and Revamping

For the past two weeks, I've been dedicating 4-5 hours each night to revamp the entire website. It’s been a tough, redesigning, creating new products, and forming new relationships with fulfilment partners and printers. This means we’re now able to produce some of our best work to date. The process has been intense but incredibly rewarding, and I can’t wait for you to see what I've been working on. Including the brand new era to The Oscura Collective; Stitch The Void. Pushing beyond just printing and into the world of embroidery. 

New Beginnings

The Oscura Collective has a new lease on life. This isn’t just a comeback; it’s a reincarnation. I’ve poured my heart into every detail, ensuring that our new offerings reflect the passion and dedication that The Oscura stands for. 

What’s Next?

As we move forward, expect to see new products that push the boundaries of our artistic expression, both with Stich The Void but also venturing into new ways to create and also deliver my art and also other peoples art. Using innovative techniques, and access to the world of art and tattoo culture, to bring you pieces that resonate with the essence of The Oscura. This is more than just a fresh start; it’s an evolution of everything The Oscura represents. Keep a look out for The Oscura Archives a new project and collection I'm going to be working on in the coming weeks.
